Welcome to my research website. I am an Officer for Early Career Academics at the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg, Germany, where I am, amongst other things, currently managing the graduate academy and an Affiliated Researcher of the Center for Development Research (ZEF) of the University of Bonn, Germany. In 2013 I completed my PhD in the Department of Economics at Trinity College Dublin, Ireland, where I was affiliated with the Institute for International Integration Studies. My PhD was supervised by Gaia Narciso, examined by Jean-Philippe Platteau and John O'Hagan, and funded by a departmental award and a GREP scholarship provided by the Irish Research Council for the Humanities and Social Sciences (IRCHSS). My research is situated in applied development microeconomics and I am especially interested in the fields of economics of the family and household behaviour including intra-household analyses. In my life outside of academia I am passionate about travelling, Ethiopian food, linguistics, indoor cycling, and watersports.
